Comments:  The shapes in the throne have been opened on the sides and it seems this was done on purpose to be able to decorate the piece with feathers, plants or other objects. In the upper part of the throne, there are also holes to allow the decoration of the piece. Caso says that this piece was found as an offering to Stelae 16 (Caso 1938: 19). Skulls of birds and a "very dark" soil were found inside the piece (Caso, Bernal y Acosta 1967: 127). This piece was found next to another urn (see MNA Mont. Y.W.of.2-2). Both were covered with broken pieces of earthenware and flat stones to protect them. Compare with ROM 1936, MFR s/n 6, SMI 115002, UPM 29-41-707 and KERR 6460. Glyphs:  Glyph C in the headdress. Comments:  Caso and Bernal use this piece to define category "Bow God in Headdress". According to Caso, the urn was attached to the pectoral or loincloth, but fell off (Caso 1936: 13). The piece was found with two more (Nos. 6 and 9): one with a serpent's mouth mask and the other, with a headdress featuring the Cocijo and glyph C. The rest of the offering was also very rich in ceramics. There were two skeletons in the burial.

There is an unpublished drawing by Urcid of the pieces in situ on the facade. Comments:  This piece is part of a series of five pieces excavated by Marshall Saville. He found them embedded over a lintel engraved with glyphs, at the entrance of a tomb. On both sides of the central vessel, there were two stucco skulls embedded in the facade (see Urcid's reconstruction). Each urn was protected with a plate when the tomb was buried. They are lids and Saville (1899: 359) maintains that he found the matching boxes, broken and thrown into the fill that was used to cover the tomb. The pieces were broken when they were dettached from the facade. Glyphs:  A glyph C in the headdress.

The handles have the shape of an ear of corn. Possibly the ends with circles in the headdress, which are mostly broken, represent grains of corn as shown by other vessels of this type. Comments:  This piece is one of a series of five identical pieces. Caso found them in the period PMA II (1932-1933) in front of the entrance to the tomb, which was dated MA IIIB-IV. Two complete pieces came out of the excavation: one is exhibited at the National Anthropology Museum and the other is exhibited at the Museum of Cultures. Compare with YUAG 29.19.1958.
