| Yax Ak is portrayed in all three monuments that refer to him by name. The most complete portrait by far is the one on Tonina Monument p6, in which Yax Ak is adorned as a jaguar god of the underworld, probably to enact a ritual mythological role leading to his sacrifice. It is possible that Tonina Monument p28 comprises a fourth portrait of Yax Ak: although that monument has no surviving inscription, the captive portrayed wears an identical costume to the of Yax Ak on Monument p6. | ||
