Sitio:  Palenque Número de Schele:  118 Descripción:  Limestone panel from Temple XVII, with glyphs and two figures. A captive kneels before a standing warrior who holds a flint spear and wears a war headdress. The large text to the left records an event at Palenque that occurred in AD 490 by Ahkal Mo' Naab' I. The small text above the kneeling figure gives the name of a person captured. The text to the far right describes an event involving Kan B'alam sitting on a jaguar-covered bench or pillow. Sitio:  Palenque Número de Schele:  119 Descripción:  Fragment of limestone panel known as "The Bundle Sculpture" with glyphs and figures, recovered from the fill of Group XVI. Three figures carry a large bundle; with a fourth profile just visible at the lower left. The large glyphs give the date 1 April, 731, while the small glyphs between the two figures on the left record the name of Ahkal Mo' Naab III. All three figures wear tall cone-like headdresses of either paper or fabric. Localización Actual:  Palenque, Museo de Sitio, Inv. Sitio:  Palenque Número de Schele:  120 Descripción:  Carved limestone panel with three figures. The central figure, K'inich K'an Joy Chitam II, stands in a dancing posture holding aloft a serpent-footed axe and wearing the shell ear-piece of GI. His father, K'inich Janaab Pakal (right), and mother, Lady Tz'akbu Ajaw (left) sit flanking him. Pakal holds a small, full-figure K'awiil and Lady Tz'akbu Ajaw holds a personified Jester God. The text records an anniversary of the death of his ancestor, K'an Joy Chitam I. Schele (1980:308) notes that there is no firm association between the panel and Palenque; the panel may have come from a nearby site. The central figure is K'inich K'an Joy Chitam II, flanked by his parents (on the left is K'inich Janaab Pakal and on the right, Lady Tz'akbu Ajaw). The figures sit on benches associated with the Three Stones of Creation. Pakal holds a Drum Major Headdress with a Jester God diadem. Lady Tz'akbu Ajaw, wearing a jade skirt, displays a bowl containing a personified eccentric flint and flayed face shield. Each tier displays a large human (perhaps K'an Joy Chitam II) or Maize God face flanked by a two-headed serpent. From the open jaws of each serpent emerges the head of K'awiil.
