Site:  Nasca Clados Number:  211 Culture:  Nasca Description:  effigy vessel, ID number missing, Göteborg Ethnografiska Museet. Chronological Era:  Early Intermediate Period (EIP), Nasca 7 Phase. Iconographic Features:  Killer Whale Mythical Being as motif on the tunic of a (shouting?) nobleman. It is depicted with killer whale body and human arms. A striped tunic indicates a human torso. Hair hanks are attached to the border of the killer whale body associating the creature with war and harvest. It is surrounded by fishes indicating water. Patricia Lyon (1978:126) argued that the Killer Whale Mythical Being was not really meant to represent the killer whale per se but a "supernatural being who has in its charge all water creatures and who is in a position to provide rich fishing to those who please it and destroy those who do not" ("Master" or "Mistress" of Fishes). Site:  Nasca Clados Number:  212 Culture:  Nasca Description:  drum, ID number missing, Banco Central de Reserva, Lima. Chronological Era:  Early Intermediate Period (EIP), Nasca 7 Phase. Iconographic Features:  Killer Whale Mythical Being (grey) and Wari Stinger Animal (?) (yellow). They are surrounded by banded spears, carrying cords, and loincloths indicating a battlefield. The Wari Stinger Animal is depicted with feline head (?), squared jaws, killer whale (?) body, jaguar forelegs, and human legs. Killer whale body of the Wari Stinger Animal depicted with fishes enclosed. A stinger/tail is attached to the bifurcated tail. Two trophy heads are grasped by the Wari Stinger Animal.

Site:  Nasca Clados Number:  213 Culture:  Nasca Description:  chicha (?) ritual vessel, C-35090, M.N.A.A.H.-Lima. Chronological Era:  Early Intermediate Period (EIP), Nasca 7 Phase. Iconographic Features:  one of the most complex Nasca 7 scenes depicting two Killer Whale Mythical Beings and the Wari Stinger Animal (right below). The head of the Killer Whale Mythical Beings is identical to the head of the Wari Stinger Animal (Mythical Monkey head type). Killer whale bodies enclose fishes. Wari Stinger Animal depicted with doubled fish tail. A human (indicated by head and arm) is devoured in the jaws of a (Mythical Monkey head type) Rayed Face/decapitated Mythical Monkey head which itself is devoured by the Wari Stinger Animal. The top of the vessel is in form of a ritual court. Its inner walls are decorated with trophy heads.

Iconographic Features:  nobleman wearing Killer Whale Mythical Being headdress. His tunic shows One-Eyed Rayed Faces, Mythical Monkey Head Type Rayed Faces, and Mask Type Rayed Faces.

Chronological Era:  Early Intermediate Period (EIP), Nasca 7 Phase. Iconographic Features:  two drawings of the Killer Whale Mythical Being (on the underside of the vessel). It is depicted with killer whale body, human arms, and human legs. A loincloth indicates a human body. It is surrounded by capsicum pepper (ají) and fishes swimming alongside. The Killer Whale Being holds a spear thrower (?). It is depicted with Mythical Monkey head type. Helmut Schindler (2000, 66) considers the Killer Whale Being as shark-deity.

Site:  Nasca Clados Number:  216 Culture:  Nasca Description:  effigy vessel, N. M. 255 Staatliches Museum für Völkerkunde München. Chronological Era:  Early Intermediate Period (EIP), Nasca 5/6 Phase. Iconographic Features:  person of high rank in rich attire wearing an elaborately painted mask and a headdress showing a composite creature. This creature consists of a sea lion body (painted on the back of the dignitary) and a human head, and wears a headdress decorated with capsicum pepper. Its shoulders are replaced by cacti (?). The dignitary holds six spears in his left hand and a trophy head with closed mouth in his right hand. His clothes are covered with trophy heads - some of them with helmets. Each shoulder bears the motif of the Winged Mythical Killer Whale holding trophy heads. Beneath, a human couple (Principal Pair?) and the Feline Serpent are portrayed. Site:  Nasca Clados Number:  225 Culture:  Nasca Description:  vase portraying nobleman, drawing after Lavalle 1986, 143. Chronological Era:  Early Intermediate Period (EIP), Nasca 7 Phase. Iconographic Features:  Bird Mythical Being 9 (BMB-9), a Late Nasca bird mythical being as motif on the tunic of the man. It is depicted with Rayed Feline Face Bloody Mouth head type, human body with legs, wings, and tail. Feathers replaced by volute rays.
